Oh, might as well...

I was glancing through a few friends' LJs, and lifted a slightly interesting experiment from
gipsy_dreamer's LJ. So I'll give it a go.
The idea is this:
So here are mine, then:
Just a warning - I'm listing the singers performing them as they came up. Many of them aren't the original artist - in many cases I can't remember the original artist. Bear with me. ;-)
Oh, and bonus points if you in your guess can quote the next line.

The idea is this:
- Set media player on random
- Post the first line from the first 32 songs to play, whatever they are. (Presumably the original idea was written by someone who didn't believe in instrumental tracks.)
- Let people guess the song (and singer, though given that half of the tunes I have are jazz and rock & roll standards that could prove tricky).
- Bold each song when someone guesses correctly.
- Guessers - looking them up is cheating. So there.
So here are mine, then:
- I hate to see the evening sun go down
- All aboard the night train
- Paid vacation in a foreign land - "You're In The Army Now", Status Quo (
gipsy_dreamer)
- When we kiss my heart's on fire

- Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans - "Johnny B Goode", Chuck Berry (
burntcopper, Chris)
- Turn it up, turn it up, turn it upside-down
- Czolgosz, working man, born in the centre of Michigan - "Ballad of Czolgosz", Stephen Sondheim (Haarhzh)
- Gloria, you're always on the run now
- My life will never be the same, 'cause girl you came and changed...

- I love coffee, I love tea - "Java Jive", Manhattan Transfer (Chris)
- We get it on most every night

- Don't know about the future, that's anybody's guess
- Listen to the ground, there is movement all around
- Oh, I like to dream... yes yes, right between the sound machine
- I was sitting by the phone, I was waiting all alone
- Left a good job in the city - "Proud Mary", Creedence Clearwater Revival (

- Everything I have to do will never be done, only cause I'm very very lazy - "Lift Me Up", The Real Group (

Just a warning - I'm listing the singers performing them as they came up. Many of them aren't the original artist - in many cases I can't remember the original artist. Bear with me. ;-)
