Snow by Lucia...

Yup, I reckon we'll have snow by the 13th. It's -1.2°C on my indoor windowsill (I've been airing my room), and that's right above the radiator, so it's probably around -2, -3 outside. Lots of frost, relatively high humidity... and my winter hats are still in Scotland. Oh joy.

Still, the weather should be getting interesting from now on. Let's see if the Brits panic at an inch of snow as they usually do....

You mean you haven't had any yet?

Ok, so ours was not enough to make a snowball, let alone anything more substantial, but we had definitely had snow in Cheshire.

No, just some frost so far.

We'll see if we get a reprise of that particularly pathetic news report from a few years ago: "Thousands of drivers trapped on the M-something near Cambridge" and moaning about -6 degrees and four inches of snow.

How do you get four inches of snow on a motorway? And beside, -6 and four inches? That's nothing...

Hey, don't look at me, I used to live in the Black forest for one brief, cold winter. We got four feet of snow on the odd occasion...

Four inches of freezing slush could be rather intimidating, I think...
